What to Expect From a
Paranormal Investigation
Here a few important points:
These are only some the important points. There are more. Keep that in mind.
We Vet Our Members
An extensive background check is conducted on our members every year. Your safety is a top priority for us.
Investigations Are Free
We believe this service should be available to anyone. Donations are accepted and we hold fundraisers to fund the investigations.
What We Cannot Do
1. Officially “prove” a location is haunted or not.
2. Guarantee a specific outcome.
3. Guarantee the aftermath of an investigation.
What We Will Not Do
1. Make promises.
2. Be dishonest and/or falsify evidence.
3. Endanger you or our team.
What We Can Do
1. Empower you within your own space.
2.Provide you with resources regarding any steps that need to be taken (if needed).
You Are Respected
We respect you, your family, home and keep things confidential. We’ll go over everything with you prior to starting and put it in writing.
What Happens After You Contact Us?
Once you submit our online form, you will get a quick response from one of our case manager. It takes courage to reach out to us! We’ll get back to you and begin addressing your concerns.
Reminder: as written on the form you submitted or are about to submit, now is a good time to begin keeping your journal of events to document any activity in your location.
When our case manager contacts you, they will review all necessary information needed for us to help you. This part may feel personal and revealing. Please expect it to include questions addressing medical and mental health situations, along with questions about the relationships. All this information is of course kept strictly confidential. We only ask for this information in order to have a complete picture of your situation. Once one of our case managers has gathered all of the necessary information, our team gathers to review the information and determine next steps. Caren participates in this to an extent, however, since she is the evidential medium she isn’t included in the background information or details. She completely trusts her team to determine the next steps. Caren will know your case exists, but that’s pretty much it. Not every case will progress automatically to the investigation phase. There are times we might require you or a family member be cleared by your physician, or other various permissions to be acquired before we will schedule an investigation. We need to thorough and everyone needs to be safe.
Once our team determines that your case should proceed to an investigation, one of our case managers will get back in touch with you to schedule one. They’ll let you know about all guidelines about preparing for an investigation. The case manager is your point of contact from here on out, and will make sure you know all the details. On the day of the investigation, we will arrive promptly at the scheduled time. Our team will vary depending on the requirements of your case. You can expect us to have 3-10 people with us. After introductions, it’s time to take care of preliminary paperwork. Your case will be reviewed with you and you’ll be requested to give most of our team a tour of a property (Caren walks on her own with her assistant). This will help us determine where we should place equipment and let us know about any safety hazards for our team. Once this stage is complete we will establish our home base station, set up equipment and take baseline readings (Temperature and EMF). Please expect the running of long wires throughout the location. These wires and then secured by painters tape. You are more than welcome to observe this process.
Once everything is up and in place, the investigation begins. It is our preference that you and your family leave the property. However, we understand that might not be possible. So, if you are staying, one of the case manager will remain with you throughout the whole investigation at our ‘base camp’. This way you’ll be informed, and they’ll ensure that any noise and activity levels remain low. You will not be allowed to participate or use any of your own equipment. If you are leaving the property, we will ask for a contact number. The actual process and length of the investigation itself varies from place to place, and, is highly dependent upon the reported activity along with the location itself. Please understand that Spirit doesn’t perform on command. If nothing happens while our team is on site, please know we understand a return visit may be necessary. Once the investigation is done, we’ll carefully pack up and remove all of our equipment. Also, we’ll ask you to perform a walk-through with one of us and you can document any conditions you find unsatisfactory at that time – we strive to make sure you don’t find any.
Once we return to our office, we start to review any data captured. This process is extensive and requires both time and effort. As a result, the review process can take up to two weeks or longer. Once this process is concluded, each team member present for the investigation submits their individual report. These aid in the completion of our comprehensive final report of the investigation. Each team member then reviews that report and both Caren and the Team Leader of that particular investigation sign off on it. Once they do, your case manager will contact you to go over your case results and any needed further courses of action will be explained to you. This is entirely dependent upon our findings. We will do everything with in our power to make sure you have the information and help you need regarding the resources you may need to utilize.
