Well hello! I love how you ask a simple question – two words to be exact – yet I know exactly what you mean. This post has two parts to it. Part 1 is more general and part 2 is written directly for psychic kids – found below the FIREWORKS! Well, it’s a photo.
Allow me to start by saying psychic kids are awesome. Point blank. But it’s not easy to be one. Trust me – I used to be one. Are psychic kids different than other kids? Nope. They’re still kids. People tend to forget that sometimes. In many people’s minds, psychic kids morph into something ‘other’ than them. Once someone or society as a whole sees someone as an ‘other’, the focus person is then placed in the periphery of society. Unfortunately, this is more common than not with psychic kids.
So let’s get straight to business. Humor me for a second please. Imagine that you’re living in a world in which you’re the only one who is incredibly strong from childhood. You run around picking up your parents and whatnot (you picked up the car once and got scolded), but you still look like a kid – no accelerated growth here. As you grow up, you notice that other children, and even adults, don’t do what you do. The catch here is that you notice because others point out to you what you’re doing, and automatically you’re the ‘other’. You’re doing something that society deems unacceptable. But you’re just being you. There was no genie lamp or wishing on a star to ‘blame’ for your strength. You didn’t ask for that ability – you’re born that way. This analogy might seem silly to some, but it does illustrate what life can be like for psychic kids.
Psychic kids are not strange or different or, my personal ‘favorite’, ‘off’. They are human, not superhuman, simply human. Working with the unseen worlds just comes more easily to them. They are not different in this because everyone can do this; everyone has done this – people just have to want to. Now, before we go any further, psychic kids are not all the same. We are as varied as they come (yes, sometimes it’s hard for me to admit I’m an adult ha!) Some can heal people, others can see a person’s true nature, certain ones love speaking with animals and elementals while others prefer talking to dead people. These are just a few examples of what psychic kids can do.
As a former psychic kid, I can tell you from experience there were times I felt like I was flying high, while other times found me plummeting to depths I couldn’t even have imagined existed. Remember, Spirit is vast, with lower and higher energies involved.  Psychic kids have access to all that Spirit encompasses – the high and the low. As such, being a psychic kid can seem overwhelming – especially if support isn’t present.
So how do you support and work with a psychic kid? I’ll help you out with some pointers. Support can come in many different forms. Here are a few of my personal favorites:
- Hugs show that someone is on their side protecting them.
- Listening. This is a big one! Just having a safe place to speak is valuable beyond words. Seriously, I have no words that do this one word justice. Just listen, even if you have no idea what they’re talking about.
- Reassurance that they’re special and not weird. They matter greatly to this world.
- Realization on your part that you can’t, not to mention shouldn’t, try to change them. Trust me, it won’t work. That type of process leads to alienation doesn’t it?
- Mentors play a huge role. I’m still in touch with my mentors to this day. Yes, I learned much of what I know on my own, but where’s the fun in that? What better solution to not feeling alone is there to literally not being alone? Mentors wear many hats such as teachers, guides, sounding boards for ideas, partners in crime and counselors. This is just to name a few! It’s also great for the supporters of psychic kids to work with their child’s mentor as well. The mentors can handle situations beyond belief. The best part is they won’t hesitate to do so. They support your child through thick and through thin. Make sure you find a mentor that your psychic kid feels comfortable with.
There are many more ways to support psychic kids.  How many can you think of?  You always have to remember that psychic kids are human. They’re regular kids. They’re 100% normal and get to do really awesome stuff. Let’s use photos to illustrate this:

Dear Psychic Kids,
Don’t ever let anyone else define who you are! Your power as a human being is yours alone. Discover who you are. It’s perfectly fine to make mistakes and it’s absolutely acceptable to ask for help. I’ve been there, and I know life in general can be overwhelming. Add the psychic part, and we’re way beyond the stratosphere. Find people with similar interests. Use mentors. Realize that you’re not alone, accept it, live it. Trust your intuition. If something feels right, great! If not, make it leave. You are the one in control. You can handle what Spirit puts in your path. So go blaze your own path! You’re in control.
