I love when I’m asked about creating change! Summer has flown by, and with Fall right around the corner, it’s a great time to create change in our lives. Let’s utilize Fall’s energy. I love the Fall. It makes me feel like everything is going to be alright. As the leaves start to change colors, it reminds me that life is a never-ending cycle. How great is that? There is a sense of anticipation in the air. You know, that something is coming, but you’re not sure what yet. It’s a time to shed what we don’t want to carry anymore, continue with what we want, and to manifest what we need.
First of all, you need to ask yourself: am I ready for change? Let’s face it…if you’re not ready to make and accept changes in your life, this won’t work. You need to be open to the idea of change and set an intention of manifestation in your heart. I’ll give you some ideas how to do that, and at the end of the post, I’ve included a tarot spread of my own design that can give you a hand too. I threw the cards regarding a personal situation I want to improve, and walk you through an abbreviated version of my interpretation of it. Now let’s start.
Get Your House Organized
Yes, you did just read that. Trust me, I’m a scatter-brained professor, so naturally, my house isn’t the most organized (but I know where every single item is), and it’s pretty strange for me to write that title. But you can’t fight the truth. You know the feeling when everything is clean and organized. In addition to being a great feeling, it’s actually making room in your life for something new whether it’s physical, spiritual or both. So making space should be a mantra of yours.
Get Your Work Life Into Gear
It’s all well and good to organize your home life, but what happens with your professional life? Work can be hectic. Did I mention I’m a professor? I love teaching college kids, but sometimes they drive me up the wall. So it’s time to set some goals. Don’t let others push you around, and set your boundaries. Keep your work place organized and flowing with your great energy. In my professional life this is of utmost importance. When I’m all balanced physically and energetically, I can switch between being the psychic medium, healer, professor, and singer/songwriter when and how I choose to.
Take Care of Yourself
Your body is a temple (that’s a song lyric isn’t it?). Take care of it. Your body houses all that you are. To stay on point, respect your body, your brain and keep yourself healthy. Eat nutritional food. Junk food is absolutely allowed – just not all the time. Find an activity that helps you keep your body in shape and relaxes you. I personally love bellydance. It’s a workout but allows you to connect to your inner goddess. Make sure you find a way to allow yourself some time for yourself without feeling guilty about taking time for yourself. I’m still working on that last one.
The Company You Keep
Like it or not, the people that we surround ourselves with, inform others (not to mention ourselves) about who we are. Who is currently in your life? Do they offer support? Blame? Harsh judgment? How about toxicity? You are responsible for your own life. Claim your power. Don’t ever let anyone tell you what to think of yourself. We’re all on our own paths, and if you need to part ways with some people in your life, that’s okay – no matter how hard it might be or how the people involved feel about it. Take some time to sit down and figure out which direction your life is going, and who should go with you, or on the flip-side, who you should accompany. You are you, and that’s awesome. Support ‘you’.
Hook, Line & Sinker
But what happens when you hit a crossroad, and don’t know which way to go? Believe me, I’ve been there when (insert your own word here) hits the fan. In many cases when that happens, I turn to the Tarot. Considering that Tarot is my jam, that shouldn’t surprise you 😛 . I’m going to share with you a Tarot spread I came up with at least a decade ago. It’s called the Hook, Line and Sinker Tarot Spread. It’s become an old friend. What I love about this spread is that it allows the reader to truly grasp the situation, the best way to move forward while maintaining momentum, while illuminating ‘special attention needed’ areas and the likely outcome. Before we start, here’s a reminder: this is a real reading I conducted about my horse’s situation. I combine my knowledge of the individual cards, and my intuition. I asked a question along the lines of ‘what is the best way for me to work with my very gentle, loving, smart, yet stubborn horse in order to improve his current situation’. This is the abbreviated version. Ready? Me too! First, here’s a picture of the spread (the deck used is The Wild Unknown Tarot):
- The Situation: The Emperor. Well, this is fitting. Â If my horse was a human, this is exactly what he would be like. He is exactly like that. He’s confident, bold, he’s well-built and brilliant. He’s protective of me. This horse is well aware of himself and gently controls those around him. Learning quickly is an understatement for this horse – he learns everything even when he’s not the horse being taught.
- What Tools You Currently Have On Your Side: The Magician. I have the tools I need to work with him. I just need to realize that and not be afraid to embrace them. I can harness the creativity I have, and mix it with discipline when working with him. Self-confidence speaks volumes.
- Factors That Are Currently Hindering The Situation: The Two of Swords. Two minds are involved here, both within me and quite literally – a horse is involved here too. Probably other people’s too. I’m not sure what approach to take, and have let others undermine my confidence even though I’ve been around horses all my life. I need to push past this stalemate and get both me and my horse in gear.
- Put Action Plan Into Motion: The World. Oh wow, interesting huh? This is the final card in the major arcana. It’s the successful completion of a journey so to speak, even though this still is an active phase in my life. Once I embrace myself and the tools I’ve picked up along the way, mixed with the self-confidence I need, I just need to get to work and complete the journey. I need to be ‘whole’ and radiate that to him. How can I ask him to work with me if I don’t?
- How To Keep Up The Momentum: The Chariot. Well look at that…it’s a horse! Again, here is a card that can speak of confidence. Okay, Spirit, I get the picture! I’m not usually used to lacking confidence, but when it comes to combining my Native view and more scientific ones, I falter when trying to combine the two. My resolve needs to be steadfast and my confidence endless. My mind needs to be focused on the goal whilst instilling confidence in my horse as well.
- Area Needing Special Attention #1: The Six of Pentacles. This is a card of reciprocity. I need to be aware of all parties involved (humans & animal)Â as well as, my relationship with them. No judging, no feeling shame; just understanding. Reciprocity is a gentle balance.
- Area Needing Special Attention #2: The Five of Cups. Awww sad horse. There will likely be setbacks and loses. It will be best to stay away from hasty decisions regarding animals or humans. I must not push my horse too much or expect too much from him. Combined with the previous card, I’m going to need to be very careful with the relationships involved here. But now that I have a heads up, I’ll use my free will to minimize any fallout as much as possible.
- The Outcome: The Sun. How lovely! This is joy and happiness – for all involved. It’s total completion and total connection. Total unity. The clouds lift and all will be well. We can relax and appreciate where we’ve been, where we are and where we’ll be heading.
I hope this spread will be as helpful to you as it is to me. If you’re a beginner reader, this spread is for you too. Just take your time. The more you read, the more you’ll learn. As always, if you have any questions or comments let me know!
Well, all this talk about Fall has got me excited, and I’m off to buy a pumpkin. I’m serious – my fluffy black cat loves to push a mini pumpkin around the house. Don’t ask me why.
Til’ later!
xx,
~Caren
