I love this question! The full moon is very powerful, yet the new moon is equally as powerful. I’ve created an exercise to connect you to new moon energy. Even though this exercise is designed to be utilized by multiple people, you’ll find it takes on a very personal vibe. Some people told me that after completing this, they’ve been able to know what phase and astrological sign the moon is in without having to check – they are reading the surrounding energy. While this result isn’t guaranteed, it’s something to look forward to in time. Practice makes perfect right? The following exercise provides you with an introduction to 12 new moons (these can also be known as dark moons) and the astrological sign they’re associated with. Now, the Moon moves quickly through its’ orbit. This means that the Moon can be in a different astrological sign than the present month’s. Reminder: this list is not complete. You will find things out on your own that you will wish to add to what I’ve written. Do it and trust your gut.
New Moon Energy Under The Astrological Signs
Aries: this is the ram, pure fire. This is energy at full force, yet it is untamed and undirected. This is spontaneous action, a short sprint if you will. A new moon under this sign hints it’s time for you to start exploring your own self-identity. Think along the lines of who am I? What do I want to become? What can I offer the world? It’s okay if you can’t come up with answers to this; to start thinking about it. Don’t judge yourself and let the energy flow. Make sure you set some plans in motion for any ideas you feel drawn to – Aries has the tendency to jump right in. Always remember that the ram is spontaneous action. The ram is headstrong and a pioneer. Keywords: I AM.
Taurus: welcome to the sign of the bull. This sign is structured, stable, reliable and constant. It’s earthy. Taurus in general appreciates value and beauty. Physical acceptance and appreciation play a role. A new moon found in this sign can remind you to be connected to your body. Sometimes we might want to let our minds wander and get lost in our imagination. However, one must also be connected with their physical body. Take a journey back through your memories to all you’ve accomplished and see how your physical body helped you out there. In this month take special note of how your body feels with each of the activities you take part in. Embrace it, feel it. A new moon under Taurus is a good time to work on finding true value in what you seen. Keywords: I HAVE.
Gemini: twins! This sign can represent curiosity and connection between two opposites, as well as being able to contain those two energies. Gemini is all about communicating and loves knowing things. Here are some questions to ask yourself during a new moon in Gemini. What do you want? If you want to enhance what you already know? This is the perfect time to draw this energy into your life. Involve someone else in this and learn together! Double trouble right? Keywords: I COMMUNICATE.
Cancer: this is the crab who flows along with the waves. This sign represents many feelings and emotions. Cancer has the tendency to go off-balance when something within isn’t properly aligned. Watch out for some interesting, possibly wacky energy. This is a good time to work on staying balanced. It’s important to be able to explore all the emotions you have and to truly understand them. When you are in tune with your emotions, you can control them as well as instantly feel when you are off balance. Take this time to fully investigate your world of emotions. Once you’ve conquered that, if you’re up for the challenge, you can try and understand other people’s emotions. Keyword: I FEEL.
Leo: the mighty lion. This guy is all about strength. The lion is charismatic, expressive, proud, a creative, self-aware, and sure of themselves. Under this moon think about what you want to risk in your life. Go for it. The lion is calculating and fearless. Use this fearlessness to your advantage. Unlike with Aries, Leo is no sprinter; there is stability in his stride. It’s time to own your life and know your own heart. Keywords: I EXPRESS.
Virgo: the maiden. This sign is about organization as well as connecting to planet Earth on a physical level. In a new moon under Virgo, be silent and listen. Take note of your hypersensitivity. Focus on body language, eye contact or vocal tones. Try to see how much information you can gain from the silence. Take in the world around you, live it and breathe it (within reason of course). Since Virgo is also about change, see how you can integrate what you’ve learned into your everyday life. Keywords: I INTEGRATE.
Libra: the scales. This sign loves assessment, balance and the ability to be able to evaluate things. It’s the iron hand in the velvet glove. If there isn’t any type of justice, there’s no peace. Libra possesses clarity in thinking. Connect to this as much as possible. Understand why things are the way they are. Come up with new philosophies or new ideas. The sky’s the limit! Keywords: WE ARE, WE BALANCE.
Scorpio: this sign is the most sensitive, is spiritual as well as deep. Scorpio explores the shadow part of life. It’s all about shadow work. Aquarius: “When the Moon is in the seventh house and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars. This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius…” Okay, I’ll stop now. If you are singing along with me in your head, then we’re totally on the same wavelength, rock on! So Aquarius is the water bearer. This sign speaks of ideals and of being in service. It’s the mad scientist, that thinks a lot, creates connections through thought, and loves politics. It’s the rebel. A water bearer is significant because this person brings water which is a substance that is way more precious than gold. We can survive without the latter, but will be dead within days without the former. Help everyone out this month. Try to connect to higher knowledge found in the universe that’s connected to the human race and help us progress throughout time. Keywords: I’M DIFFERENT.
Pisces: this is the fish. Spiritual connections. Imagination! This sign often brings a frequency that is soft, and sensitive. In a Piscean world things move slowly, deeply and with focus in a higher reality. This often gets lost in everyday life. This month try to incorporate your higher and more spiritual reality, as well as your connections to the unseen worlds in your daily life. This sign always reminds people to act with empathy and sensitivity. Keywords: I IMAGINE.
Well, there you have it. I really did just give you a year-long assignment, didn’t I? You don’t have to do it for the entire year if you don’t want to. If you feel drawn to one particular moon make sure you attempt the exercise for that particular month.
Until next time!
xx,
~Caren
