Whoa now, great question! Soulmate connections can be some of the most rewarding relationships, but they can also be quite the opposite. One thing to remember: these are intense relationships, no matter how they manifest. See the picture? Good. Now take that intensity, multiply it by at least a billion, and you’ll get an idea of how intense a soulmate relationship can be.
Soulmate 101
Yes, it’s true some soulmate relationships don’t last forever. Before we get to the ‘why’ of that question, let’s talk about what a ‘soulmate’ is first.  I might’ve gone into detail about this in another post, so please bear with me. When we are in the Before Life (the term I like to use instead of After Death/Life), there are certain souls we connect to and travel with.  This is our Soul Group and they remain the same throughout our lives (unless a ‘baby’ soul joins etc. – that’s a whole other post though).  Any soul in this group is a ‘soulmate’. Let’s use the analogy of a play to illustrate this. Lets say you’re prepping to be born. Your soul group gathers around for a casting call for your upcoming life. They get their roles, lines and cues, the works; but what happens when no one at the casting call can fit a specific role? In such a case, a swing is called in…from another soul group that sometimes aids yours and visa versa.  This soul, despite having a close relationship with your soul group, is not a soulmate of yours. This is a lesson or event that it’s best for someone outside your soul group to teach you.
The souls in our soul group are not limited to romantic relationships.  They can be our father, mother, best friend, the crazy uncle or an enemy (etc.) in our lives. Confession: in all my years of being a professional psychic medium and healer, I haven’t seen many romantic relationships that are actual soulmates. When soulmate connections do occur, they are very intense, regardless of the type of relationship – platonic or not.
Now…with that background, on to your question, but allow me a quick side-note first. Â The person who asked this question is referring to a romantic connection, but feel free to apply the following to any type of soulmate connection.
There is no one guarantee a soulmate relationship will be easy or last forever. Guess what? That’s okay! Actually, I’ve found when a soulmate presents themselves as a lover, then the connection is rarely easy – there’s always intense work to do. Relationships aren’t easy to begin with. There has to be compatibility, love, chemistry, connections, communications and so much more. Â A soulmate love connection is turbulent and a challenge in and of itself. The emotions and senses are heightened. That sense of familiarity helps and hinders. You guys know each other well from past lives, but who knows what type of connection you had in those lives? Remember how individuals play different roles? Exactly. There are many different reasons why these relationships don’t always last. For example, this could be the first soulmate love relationship for either of you (or perhaps both of you) that’s too intense, a lesson you two need to learn, or even a simple reason along the lines of getting restless. There are so many aspects that play into this. Add that to heightened emotions and senses, and you get an intense relationship. It’s due to this intensity that soulmate relationships don’t always work out.
What happens once such a relationship is over?  Can I be a little blunt? Nothing easy. You two are in the same soul group.  As such you are and always will be soulmates, just not necessarily romantic ones in this life or others.  In other words, that soulmate connection will always be there. You will interact very well in the Before Life again.
Don’t try to hold on to a soulmate relationship once it’s over. It’s time to move on. This won’t be easy but focus on yourself, don’t ever lose yourself. It’s all about you now – your thoughts, energy, feelings and choices. Â In your life, you have a soul purpose. Â Don’t let anyone interfere with that – not even your soulmate. More than likely, you need to learn from this type of situation and that’s the role your soulmate was assigned. Â The choices you make won’t be easy or clearly understood. Â It’s all about your gut feeling here.
When you cut the cord so to speak with a soulmate, they will feel the energy, and the sudden distance between the two of you. Â If they feel you pulling away, they might panic into action. Â If they’re worried enough, they might try to find their way back to you. But let me make this absolutely clear: Â I am not saying let them go to come back or that they will come back. Â It doesn’t always work this way, but sometimes it does.
Good News!! You can have more than one soulmate! It’s a soul group remember? Â This is going to sound cliche, but when one door closes, another one opens. Â I’ve seen this several times. When I do readings, many people will refer to their lost love at the time as their “love of my life”. Â I urge you to think on the following. Â Your life isn’t over yet. Â How do you know you’ve met the love of your life? Â If you’ve met a soulmate as a love connection, that’s pretty cool. Â As I mentioned above, it’s not as common as one would think. Â I know you might not feel that lucky right now if you’re reading this post, but I promise you this…life has ways of surprising us.
xx,
~Caren
