Yes, I see why this can sometimes be overwhelming. You see, there are many different views/rules/myths (whichever word you prefer) about how one is ‘supposed’ to store, handle, dispose of their tarot deck.

There is no wrong or right answer for this…I’ll give you my view on how to take care of tarot decks. DO what YOU feel is right with your deck. This might even vary based on the decks themselves. Just be respectful.
That’s the way it is for me. Some of my decks (and I have plenty) have their own specific unique bag, others are wrapped in cloth while others are in their original packing, or are in nothing at all. There is no need for special wooden boxes, or silk bags. I don’t believe the cards need these items as protection from vibrations.
If you lose a card or wear the deck out etc., feel free to dispose of the deck if you feel so inclined. In my opinion, this is perfectly okay. If you feel like you aren’t connecting to a deck, and want to dispose of it, why not sell it as a used deck? I know not everyone will agree with me on this point. Some believe that one should only use new cards. Nothing is wrong with that idea, yet it is not mine. In my opinion, it is the energy of the reader that influences the deck. If the deck feels icky, you can cleanse it. I’ve done this in the past, and that deck now feels like me, and has become one of my favorites. Do what feels right for you. If you want, you can let other people touch your deck, this doesn’t harm it whatsoever, or make the deck prefer the other person over you. It’s your deck, and adjusts to you.
Again, this is only my opinion, I treat my decks in a way that feels right to me. I only suggest that you enjoy and respect your deck. Everything is up to you…in every aspect of your life. 🙂
